What we do: Skills Training
E2E (Entry to Employment) is a work based learning programme born of the Skills for Life Government Initiative. Since April 2004, Dartford YMCA's e2e Programme has been providing academic and vocational studies underpinned by personal and social development support to underachieving youths in and around our local communities preparing young people for long term commitments in employment, training, and further education. Facilitating individualised progression, our e2e programme has grown to offer 10 core academic and vocational modules with 5 elective units for trainees. Underpinning the curriculum is ASDAN Certification and Awards Primarily for 11 – 25 yr olds, ASDAN combines activity-based curriculum enrichment with a framework for the development, assessment, and accreditation of basic and key skills with personal and social skills.
Street Y's Inclusion Project was set up to help disaffected young people who have been, or are at risk of being excluded from their school as a result of anti-social behaviour. It delivers a targeted programme of support that focuses on, anger management, self-esteem, and relationships. The team have been working with 10 young people on a weekly basis from years 10 & 11. Over the course of the year 4 young people have progressed on to our e2e programme.
